Author Marc Brown is Coming!

     We are so excited to be having Marc Brown, the creator of Arthur coming to our school.  This is a once in a lifetime chance for your child to meet one of the most popular children's book author of our time.  He will be coming on October 13, 2010.  We will be capitalizing on this excitement by helping students understand that they are authors too.  We are ALL writers.

Welcome to Second Grade!

     I am so glad to have your child in my class this year.  We are going to have many exciting opportunities to learn many new things.  I have created a blog to help keep you informed and help to make you feel apart of the classroom.  I will also try to add great educational sites to help support what we are doing at school.  I will try to add things often, so check back whenever you get a chance.

     The first educational site added is called spellingcity.com.  You should be able to just click on the box on the left side of the blog and it should go straight to the site.  You can then enter our classroom spelling words for the week and they will be able to play games using these words.  I highly recommend this site if your child struggles with spelling.
