We Rock :)

We love studying Science in First grade. This week we are observing and learning about ROCKS!! We are having the best time discovering all of the different types and colors of rocks. Who knew there were so many different types of rocks? We are fascinated with the discovery of how rocks become smaller and smaller until they are small bits of sand.

50th day of school...50's style

We had such a great day celebrating the 50th day of school! We had so much fun skip counting to 50, tally marks to 50, comparing and contrasting how it was in the 1950s versus 2011, enjoying root beer floats, and hula hooping to 50's music! They had so much fun dressing up and feeling like we were in another time.

Welcome to First Grade!!

I am so excited to have your child in my classroom this year. We are going to learn so many new things and have a great time doing it. It was great to see all of you at Open House. Thank you so much for coming and learning about our classroom. A big thank you to Callie's family for bringing a pencil sharpener for our class. It has been a BIG help!!!

Our class did an awesome job on our end of year TPRI. I am so grateful for all of your help at home. Each student has grown so much. :)

We are doing an awesome job with our new multiplication skills. Ask your child to explain to you how to do 2 x 3.

Snow DAZE!!!!! Part 2

We had so much fun in the snow! We made snow ice cream today. Yummy! Here is the recipe

Snow Ice Cream
-1 cup of milk
-1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
-1/2 cup of sugar
-4 to 5 cups of CLEAN snow

Mix first 3 ingredients together and then slowly mix in the snow.
